Chapter 2: Playing Games Even in Another World

“How long will it take?”

“How should I know! If you can handle it in, say, a few hundred thousand years by your sense of time, that’d be great!”

That’s completely hopeless…

“Um… what kind of world is it?”

“Yeah, let’s see… the closer it feels to your original world, the faster you’ll get used to your power. But it also needs to be durable enough… alright, this one works. Be grateful. It’s somewhat of a fantasy world.”

“So the concept of fantasy exists, huh…”

“When I suppressed your power, I read your knowledge. Otherwise, we wouldn’t even be able to have this conversation.”

So that’s why even a transcendent like him has concepts like farming.

“There are monsters and magical beasts and dangerous—”

“Be grateful, there are tons of them!”

That’s a really nice smile…

He definitely intends to make me suffer as much as possible.

Even if he’s cooperating out of necessity, he clearly hates me as a pest.

“That’s scary! But wait, if I’ve become a transcendent, doesn’t that mean I can use god-like powers!?”

“Did you forget I sealed your power? If you want a comfortable life in another world, hurry up and learn to control it. Well, you won’t be erased at least.”

This is bad.

Being thrown into a world crawling with monsters in a normal body means I could easily die.

Well, he said I wouldn’t be erased… does that mean I won’t die?

“S-so, can I get some kind of useful ability or something?”

I rub my hands together and sidle up to the delinquent.

Even though I’m a girl, I’m known for having a small-time vibe, and this is my ultimate move.

I’m sure it’ll come in handy even in another world.

“Why the hell would I do that for someone who caused me so much trouble…? You’ve got some nerve.”

Looks like that’s a no.

He’s making a face like he just smelled something awful.

“As for abilities… make them yourself!”

“Myself?”

“How many times do I have to say it? Learn to use your power.”

But isn’t that power sealed?

“I sealed the part you can’t control, but there’s still the leftover portion you can use. That’s basically your current power. Learn to use that properly. As you gradually increase what you can handle, the seal will no longer be necessary.”

“Even if you say ā€˜make it’…”

“I’ll help you with the initial guidance of your power. First, create your own domain. Focus! You’re a transcendent, at least in name, so you can do it.”

Not really understanding, I focused on creating my own domain, and I felt a space about the size of a one-room apartment spread out around me, centered on myself.

“Good, you did it. That’s your domain. It’s not like the space within dimensions—it’s your personal domain. Within it, you can consider yourself fairly omnipotent.”

“O-omnipotent?”

“That said, it’s like a conceptual world. To put it simply for you, it’s like your dream. It’s not reality.”

“Ah, then yeah, that would be omnipotent.”

If it’s a dream, I could probably do anything I imagine.

“Now, from within that domain, think of a mechanism to interfere with the outside. That’s the first step to using your power as a transcendent.”

“How do I make that kind of mechanism?”

“Figure it out yourself. It’s not that complicated. Think about what action in here would let you bring power into the outside world, and why. The power you can use right now is basically trash, so you can’t just take it out for free. Don’t overthink it. Anything works. Like, if you do ten push-ups in here, you can bring that much power into reality.”

“P-push-ups… that sounds tough.”

With my thin arms, that might be hard.

“Idiot! That was just an example. Just accept it for now. Like I said, I’ll guide the initial part, so think about what kind of ability you want. I’ll handle the foundation, but changing that foundation yourself is difficult for you right now. So think of an ability that has good compatibility and room to expand.”

“This delinquent is saying some complicated stuff…”

“Huh!?”

Hmm… an ability, huh.

It’d be easier if he just decided for me, but judging by his expression, that’s not happening.

“You said there are monsters in that world, right? Are there even humans?”

“There are. If it’s a world with only hostile creatures you can’t communicate with, it’ll slow down your ability to control your power.”

“Then how about an ability to control other people?”

If I’m prioritizing my safety, that kind of ability seems strong.

“You’ve got a trash-tier mentality…”

The delinquent looks completely put off, but I don’t want to go through anything painful…

“Your power is garbage right now. Abilities that directly affect others are useless. That kind of power only works on those weaker than you. That’s also why it’s a hassle to erase you now that you’re a transcendent.”

That backfired.

So instant-kill types are no good.

Actually, the idea of fighting in the first place isn’t great.

And considering expandability, it’s not ideal either…

“Games…”

“Huh?”

“What about game-based abilities?”

At my words, the delinquent placed a hand on his chin and started thinking.

“That would mean… something like inheriting the abilities of game characters?”

“Exactly.”

“…That’s not bad. Game characters can be considered your alter egos. If it’s a character you’re attached to, it’ll be easier to convert into abilities. And as your energy increases, you can add more characters, so it has expandability.”

“Right!? Right!?”

“But there’s a problem!”

“What is it?”

“I haven’t really played many games. I don’t really have any attachment to characters.”

“Are you picking a fight with me, you ugly idiot!?”

No, that’s not it.

I recently borrowed a game from a friend at university, and it was surprisingly fun, so I just thought of it.

“So I’ll play games inside my domain. And then I’ll bring abilities from those games into reality.”

“That sounds like the ultimate shut-in ability. Well, it’s expandable, so it’s fine. Alright! That was easier than I expected. As for the detailed ability settings, figure them out yourself as you go. I don’t even want to look at your face anymore, so I’ll send you off now.”

I’m really disliked…

“Sorry for all the trouble this time. Thank you. I can tell that, in the end, you helped me.”

I said that with a wry smile.

That’s probably the truth.

Breaking the wall of dimensions… having that kind of power meant I was no longer myself.

My consciousness became hazy and I broke through the dimensional wall, but that wasn’t a good thing for me.

Of course, it wasn’t good for my original world either.

This person helped fix that.

That much is certain.

“Yeah… well, whatever. Just do your best.”

“Got it! For now, I’ll look for a job over there and aim for a stable life!”

A stable life sounds great!

There’s no need to recklessly throw myself into danger.

“By the way, I’ve suffered quite a bit of trouble because of this…”

“Huh? W-what?”

Oh… the delinquent’s demeanor changed.

He walked toward me with a wide smile, but his eyes weren’t smiling at all.

That’s even scarier than when he glares.

“A stable life while job hunting, huh. Don’t think it’ll be that easy. This is my little way of messing with you. If you don’t like it, get stronger and deal with it yourself!”

“H-Hey, what are you planning to do!? Stop it, you delinquent!”

“See ya! Off you go!”

“Uwaaaaahhh!”

And just like that, I was probably falling downward.
