Chapter 1: I Broke the Wall of the World and Now a Delinquent Is Yelling at Me

I cut a green pepper in half and remove the pith inside.

The seeds and thin membrane stuck to the inside of the cut pepper.

I don’t really get what this part is, but I keep picking it out with my fingers.

Apparently it’s nutritious, but it just gets in the way when stuffing meat.

I keep removing the pith from one pepper after another.

…Wait, why am I even doing this?

That question suddenly crossed my mind.

“Hey you… you’ve really gone and done something pretty outrageous, haven’t you…? How are you going to take responsibility for this?”

For some reason, a blond, long-haired delinquent is grabbing me by the collar…

“Waaah!! What is this!? H-Hey, let go of me! And where even is this place!?”

“Shut up! Quit yapping! I’ll erase you!”

This delinquent glaring at me is terrifying…

That’s basically a death threat as a greeting.

But seriously, why is he this pissed off?

Did I bump into his shoulder or something?

Did his delicate delinquent shoulder break?

As I started imagining the flow from settlement to compensation claims, I noticed something strange about my surroundings.

“What… is this place…?”

It was a pure white room.

The delinquent gripping my collar with a face that looked like it came with cracking sound effects.

And all around us was a white space.

Ah… yeah.

I don’t really get it, but this definitely isn’t normal.

“Umm…”

“Hmph, you finally came to your senses, huh?”

Saying that, the delinquent tossed me onto the white floor like I was nothing.

“Hey, you. Do you understand the situation? …No, of course you don’t.”

He ran a hand through his hair in annoyance.

But wow, this delinquent is seriously handsome.

Judging by how he’s acting, he seems to understand this situation unlike me.

I look around again, but it’s still just white.

A fairly large white space.

“No way… this must be!”

I see, it’s that classic pattern you always see in manga.

The delinquent shows a surprised expression at my realization.

“You get it?”

“We’re in the middle of a death game, right!?”

“That’s not it! What kind of idea is that!?”

“Only one person can escape this space! That’s right, whoever survives after killing the others!”

“…Honestly, I wouldn’t mind that.”

“Sorry. Just kidding. Please explain.”

This delinquent is scary…

Apparently, this delinquent is something like a god.

“No way.”

“Shut up! I’ll erase you. It’s just that, in your terms, the closest thing is a god. Or maybe a farmer.”

“What kind of two choices are those!? That’s quite the downgrade.”

Well, I can at least tell this space isn’t normal.

“I keep multiple worlds circulating without problems and harvest energy from them. If your idea of a god is something that works for the sake of the world or people without expecting anything in return, then that’s wrong. I do this for myself. That’s why I’m more like a farmer.”

“I see… well, I kind of get it. But why was I brought here?”

“…That’s because.”

Uh oh.

His anger looks like it’s flaring up again.

The god’s temple twitched.

“Because you went and smashed through the walls of the world like crazy! I told you I circulate worlds and harvest energy, didn’t I!? You messed everything up!”

“Eek! I-I don’t know anything about that!”

Apparently, I’m like a pest that wrecked the field this delinquent god carefully cultivated.

I trembled under his piercing glare for a while, but he eventually sighed and stopped glaring at me.

“Tch, I know! It’s not like you did it on purpose.”

“Hehe, s-so you’ll forgive me?”

“…………”

He looks slightly irritated by my timid attitude.

“Still, what do you mean I broke the wall of the world? I don’t think I could even do something like that.”

“Yeah, well. Normally, unless you’re something like me, you can’t observe or interfere with other dimensions. What started all this was that, from even my perspective, a massive amount of energy was generated somewhere far away. That energy didn’t even have any consciousness, but by pure coincidence… it resonated with you in a distant dimension.”

“Huh!?”

“It’s not something that normally happens. But it did. As a result, your consciousness fused with that massive energy and expanded. Then, your consciousness couldn’t contain itself anymore, so it broke through the dimensional wall… and then started breaking through the other side as well.”

Wait, could it be…?

Was what I thought was me ripping out green pepper pith actually the walls of dimensions?

“And as you kept expanding, you ended up becoming something like me. The same as me… well, let’s call it something that can interfere with the outside of dimensions—a transcendent. I panicked too. It’s a pain to suppress a rampaging transcendent. It’s hard for transcendent beings to interfere with each other.”

“I-I’m very sorry for the trouble…”

Apparently, I became a god at some point without realizing it.

“Even so, I somehow managed to seal your power, and now I can finally have a conversation with you.”

“Um, so what should I do now? Can I go home?”

“Yeah… that’s impossible. The space-time you were in is currently frozen and being restored.”

“Seriously? I’ve got university tomorrow. Well, it’s not like anyone would be sad if I disappeared, so not going back is fine, I guess.”

“Either way, I can’t send you back right now. I don’t even know when the restoration will be complete. And I’ve got no obligation to do that for you anyway.”

Well, I am a pest that wrecked his field, after all.

“So then what should I do? Help with the restoration or something?”

“Honestly, I’d like to erase you, but now that you’ve become a transcendent, completely erasing you is a hassle.”

He keeps saying ā€œeraseā€ way too much!

I don’t like that!

“That said, letting you help with the restoration in your current state would be reckless. There’s basically only one option. You can’t handle transcendent power as you are now. So until that power settles into you and you can control it properly—until the seal is no longer needed—I’ll throw you into another world.”

“A-another world?”

“Stay there until your power stabilizes. Then, once you can properly use your transcendent abilities, you’ll help with the restoration. Got it?”

It doesn’t seem like I have a right to refuse…

Even if I didn’t mean to, I did break the wall.

And it looks like time in my original world has stopped anyway.

If I can’t go back right away, then I guess there’s no helping it.
