Chapter 23: Character Profiles ①

Main Characters

Faustina = Wittgenstein
The protagonist.
The eldest daughter of the Duke of Wittgenstein.
Age: 7.
She has sky-blue hair and pale yellow eyes.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
On the day she met her fiancé, the Crown Prince, she developed a mysterious high fever.
While asleep, she regained memories of her previous life.
To avoid repeating the fate of being disowned by the ducal house, she resolves to annul her engagement to the Crown Prince, the root cause of everything.
As before, she struggles to have Elvira take her place as the fiancée, but every attempt backfires.
Her hair and eye color are inherited from her father.
Her facial features do not strongly resemble either parent.

Cain = Wittgenstein
Faustina’s older brother.
The eldest son.
Age: 8.
He has black hair and ruby-red eyes inherited from his mother.
His first-person pronoun is “I.”
He has been trained as the heir of the ducal house from an early age and is far more mature than children his age.
He often scolds Faustina, who is clumsy and unpredictable.
He is even harsher toward Elvira when she skips tutoring to visit the Crown Prince.
He has voiced criticism more than once toward his mother’s favoritism of Elvira.
His hair and eyes resemble his mother’s, but when he smiles casually, he looks like his father.

Elvira = Wittgenstein
Faustina’s younger sister, one year her junior.
Age: 6.
She has glossy black hair like a raven’s feathers and ruby-red eyes.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
Because the futures of her two older siblings were decided at birth, their mother wished to let Elvira live freely and spoiled her.
At first, she received strict education like Faustina and Cain, but her mother later decided Elvira did not need to push herself, leading to her current state.
She visited the Crown Prince before Faustina when he came to see the collapsed Faustina and became his conversation partner.
Seeing this, Faustina acquired the skill of ignoring things and gracefully passed by the room.
Like Cain, her hair and eyes are inherited from her mother, and her facial features are almost entirely maternal.
Compared to her beautiful-type mother, she has a cuter look.

Bernhard = Luis = Garcia
The kingdom’s First Prince and Crown Prince.
Age: 7.
His first-person pronoun is “I.”
He has violet-tinged silver hair and lapis-blue eyes.
He is guaranteed to grow into a handsome young man.
Faustina has been his fiancée since birth.
When Faustina collapsed on the day of their first formal meeting, he later went to see her once permission was granted, but Elvira appeared every time instead, making him suspicious.
Her sudden remark that she could annul the engagement at any time plunged him into deep anxiety.
Bernhard wants to get along with Faustina in his own way, but Faustina, who retains memories of her past life, avoids him with all her might.
He does not know the reason, since he is unaware of those circumstances.
His hair and eye color come from his father, while his facial features resemble his mother.

Neige = Luke = Garcia
The kingdom’s Second Prince.
Age: 6.
His first-person pronoun is “I.”
He has honey-gold hair and deep violet eyes.
He has sweet, delicate features, making his cuteness stand out at his age.
Born with a weak constitution, he spends most of his time in bed and is overprotected by his family.
His older brother Bernhard worries about him more than anyone else.
He appears to be a kind, brother-loving child, but suddenly makes shocking remarks and shows eyes that would terrify even demons.
A truly black-hearted prince.
Like Faustina, he retains memories of his previous life, and seems to know even more than she does.
His hair, eyes, and overall appearance resemble his mother, though it is unclear whom his personality takes after.

Aeria = Laris
The eldest daughter of the prestigious Laris Marquisate, which has produced many Crown Princesses.
Age: 7.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
She has pink-gold hair and fresh green eyes.
A single long forelock that sticks out is her defining feature.
She is the girl who stared at Faustina during the Crown Prince’s birthday party.
She approached Faustina at the Queen-hosted tea party.
Despite it being their first meeting, she greeted Faustina as if they were acquaintances, revealing that she too remembers the past.
She is extremely wary of Neige.
She gives nicknames to Bernhard and Elvira, and also has one for Neige, though she does not use it in front of him.
She resembles her mother.

The House of Wittgenstein

Citrin = Wittgenstein
The father of the three siblings.
Age: 28.
His first-person pronoun is “I.”
He has the same sky-blue hair and pale yellow eyes as Faustina.
His name comes from the gemstone citrine, which shares the same color.
He has a very gentle, easygoing demeanor.
He treats his children equally.
He has reprimanded his wife several times for being stricter with Faustina and softer with Elvira, though he generally leaves education to her.

Ludmila = Wittgenstein
The mother of the three siblings.
Age: 28.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
She has black hair and ruby-red eyes like Elvira and Cain, and is considered one of the greatest beauties in high society.
She is strict with Faustina, who is destined to become the future Crown Princess and Queen, while doting on her youngest daughter Elvira.
She feels no need to say much to Cain, who surpasses expectations on his own.
She has instead been criticized for the disparity in how she treats Faustina and Elvira.
Her strictness toward Faustina comes from high expectations, but this is not conveyed to Faustina at all.
After Faustina regained her past memories and became suddenly indifferent, Ludmila is visibly flustered.
In a sense, Faustina’s tendency to spin her wheels may be inherited from her mother.

Servants

Rinsy
Faustina’s personal maid.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
She has served Faustina since Faustina was very young.
After Faustina collapsed on the day of her meeting with the Crown Prince and began acting erratically, Rinsy sometimes scolds her, sometimes agrees with her, and sometimes gets dragged along by her antics.
She understands Faustina better than anyone outside the family.
Although not revealed in the main story, she is 15 years old.
She has light lavender hair and pale blue eyes.
Her full name is Rinsy = Charlotte.

There are also many other maids, butlers, and servants.

Royal Family

The King
He has not appeared in this chapter.
He was only briefly mentioned during the Crown Prince’s birthday party.

Sierra = Nora = Garcia
The current Queen.
Age: 28.
Her first-person pronoun is “I.”
She is a beauty with honey-gold hair and deep violet eyes.
She provides Queenly instruction to Faustina.
She is surprised by Faustina’s quick understanding and enthusiasm, and looks forward greatly to her future.
After each lesson, she spends ten minutes having tea with Faustina, building a relationship between future mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
She worries about the fact that Faustina alone does not call Bernhard by name, and tries to arrange meetings between Faustina and Bernhard, who is receiving Crown Prince training, but never quite gets through to Faustina.
Because Faustina caused her considerable trouble in the previous life, Faustina wants to annul the engagement as soon as possible.
Sierra designed the dress Faustina wore to the tea party she hosted.
