Chapter 1: My First Experience Is in a VRMMO!
Stardust Frontier.
This latest full-dive MMO was born as a miraculous game that would move all five senses with wonder.
Even its promotional videos generated overwhelming attention and popularity, creating massive excitement before release.
As the biggest title of the century, it was finally released today.
“Yay!”
A young girl hugged the newly delivered full-dive headset and let out a joyful cheer.
Aoyama Satsuki.
At just ten years old, she had chosen Stardust Frontier as the very first game of her life.
The reason she picked this title despite never having played a game before was because she had seen its breathtakingly beautiful world.
The vast landscape, recreated with perfect accuracy, was practically indistinguishable from reality.
The moment she peeked into that world through a VR headset displayed as a demo unit at a large electronics store, she had been completely captivated.
“A beautiful ocean, huge mountains, deserts, ancient ruins, and snowy peaks. I can actually go on adventures across the whole world!”
She had immediately begged her parents to reserve a copy and had been eagerly counting the days until release.
However, the ideal she envisioned wasn’t limited to that alone.
“A cool knight, a mysterious mage… they’re so inspiring.”
Traveling as a wonderful adventurer who wielded elegant swordsmanship and a wide variety of magic.
Satsuki had spent all this time dreaming of such a future, and her excitement simply wouldn’t stop.
“Are you really sure about this? MMOs are filled with all kinds of people, from adults to children, right?”
The one who voiced her concern to the overjoyed Satsuki was Aoyama Yayoi.
She was Satsuki’s mother, a woman with a gentle and easygoing demeanor.
“It’s fine! There are tons of elementary school players too!”
“Satsuki is an honest and kind girl, but you can be a little absentminded sometimes…”
“Mooom, it’ll be fine!”
Satsuki puffed out her cheeks in protest.
Even though she was supposed to be upset, she somehow ended up looking adorable instead, a trait inherited from her mother.
Still, it wasn’t unreasonable for Yayoi to worry.
After all, Satsuki had repeatedly made classic mistakes like scoring full marks on a test but forgetting to write her name on the paper.
“Then I’m going to start right away! Mom, thank you for the best present ever!”
With a bright smile, she left the living room and hurried back to her room with quick little steps.
Putting on the headset at once, Satsuki squeezed her eyes shut.
“It’s finally happening…”
The first gaming experience of her life.
The moment she powered it on, her entire view changed.
