Chapter 1: Characters – 2
Chappy
A young being of uncertain origin, whether fairy or spirit, who appeared at Vayu’s detached palace.
He has grown attached to Albel and happily wanders around nearby.
He resembles a green monster with deep green eyes.
His body is somewhat plump.
There is a mysterious zipper on his stomach.
He has exceptional durability but is clumsy and a crybaby.
His level of clumsiness rivals that of Albel, earning him the nickname Albel Number Two.
His behavior is essentially that of a toddler.
Albel dotes on him greatly, and because of that, narrow-minded men become jealous, burst into tears, and he ends up crying as well.
He then clings to Albel’s chest to be comforted, which further fuels their jealousy in an endless spiral.
He often plays pranks and gets scolded by Anna.
He has a biting habit and frequently destroys presents from Gandalf and Kristoff.
Recently, he has learned sliding dogeza and jumping dogeza.
Honey
He has a similar appearance to Chappy, but with sharper features, according to Albel.
He has a somewhat bullying personality and often picks on Chappy.
He is attached to Albel and frequently competes with Chappy for a spot on her lap.
His name comes from his love of honey candy.
He prefers biting it rather than licking it.
Like Chappy, he has a sweet tooth.
If anyone other than Albel treats him lightly, he retaliates fiercely.
In front of Albel, he is comparatively well-behaved.
His weight is variable.
He does not seem to get along well with Julius.
Renalia Daches
The heroine of the otome game “Kimi ni Koishite.”
She has dark brown hair and blue eyes.
She has a cute, small-animal-like face and a petite, delicate build.
She is a charming and simple girl.
Originally, she was earnest and hardworking, and the route would change depending on affection levels and parameter increases.
Depending on how the game progressed, she could become queen, duchess, chancellor’s wife, countess, wife of the royal court magician, and various other possibilities.
However, she is also a reincarnator, and her true personality is quite different.
She is wary of Albertina and harbors hostility toward her.
It has become hatred bordering on a grudge.
She searches for the assassin called Crowley and continues to aim for Albertina’s life.
While at the academy, she used knowledge from her previous life to aim for the harem route, but failed.
After attacking Albel, she incurred Grail’s wrath and was imprisoned.
At that time, she fell in love with Grail at first sight, but he did not give her the slightest attention.
She loves handsome men with wealth and power and declares, “Because I’m the heroine!”
Having successfully captured several targets, she became overconfident.
She cheated to raise affection by adding a “Love Potion” to the affection-boosting item “sweets,” but the sweets were actually narcotics.
Using those “sweets,” she drew various people in to climb back up again.
She is connected to the merchant group known as the War Brokers or the Death Merchants, the source of the Love Potion.
Currently, she is pursued as a major criminal while indulging in pleasure and violence and continuing her schemes.
She possesses a mysterious wish-granting device called the “Holy Grail,” which she received from Conrad, and is involved in various suspicious matters.
She still calls herself the “heroine” and aims for a comeback, but fails again.
She abandoned her original appearance and became a temporary beauty, but only her list of crimes increased.
She has once again been imprisoned.
Fundamentally, her luck, intelligence, and personality are all bad.
Lucas Or Sandis
The son of Queen Mezarin and the First Prince of the Kingdom of Sandis.
He has blonde hair and pale blue eyes.
They are barely green, but too faint to be considered Royal Eyes.
He bears the royal seal on his hand.
Enthralled by Renalia and incited by her, he condemned Albel, only to be counterattacked by Grail and fall from power.
He regained his sanity and gradually recovered his awareness as a royal.
However, due to his tyrannical behavior while infatuated with Renalia, he has almost no claim to the throne and has been abandoned by those around him.
At this rate, he is expected to be confined or imprisoned in the noble detention quarters.
He has resumed his studies and is gradually returning to his originally intelligent self.
His once-awkward relationship with his fiancée, Vivian, has rapidly grown closer.
However, he understands the gravity of his actions and believes that staying by his side would bring nothing but harm to Duchess Armadine’s daughter, Vivian, so he tells her to leave him.
As the effects of the drug Renalia gave him begin to wear off, he reflects deeply, and his original serious and thoughtful personality returns, causing him to worry whether his mother or sister might do something reckless.
Recently, his concern is that Zephar keeps teasing and prying into the details of his romance with Vivian in an amused and curious manner.
He is repeatedly forced to confront a love he had nearly given up on.
He has distanced himself from the struggle for the throne and been abandoned by his mother Mezarin, but his relationship with Leold has deepened.
In truth, he had aimed to become Crown Prince under intense pressure from his mother.
Now that Albertina, the legitimate holder of the Royal Eyes, has appeared, he wishes to step down into the nobility and start over as a subject.
He wants to repay the country for all he has learned, but his mother’s obsession gives him constant headaches.
Leold Mil Sandis
The son of Secondary Consort Ophir and the Second Prince of Sandis.
He has black hair and green eyes with a strong blue tint.
Because the blue is dominant, they are not Royal Eyes.
He can be somewhat rough and sarcastic, but he cares deeply for his older brother.
He was also captured by Renalia and became complicit in Lucas’s actions, for which he was reprimanded.
He cannot stand up to his fiancée, Catherine of the Frings ducal house.
He was less infatuated with Renalia than Lucas was.
Rather, Lucas’s extreme infatuation made him suspicious, and when he approached to investigate, he was struck by the Love Potion.
He secretly visits and checks on the fallen Lucas.
He was actually concerned about Lucas because he noticed Renalia’s abnormality early on.
His position in the line of succession has risen, but because of Albel’s existence, he could not become Crown Prince.
He personally does not mind, but his mother, Secondary Consort Ophir, is dissatisfied.
Graham Daren
The son of the Chancellor.
He has light blue hair and golden eyes.
An intellectual handsome man who wears a monocle.
He had been Lucas’s close aide, but harbored unrequited feelings and became deeply involved with Renalia.
After Lucas’s scandal, he was placed under house arrest, but secretly helped Renalia escape from prison and disappeared with her.
Lucas and Leold tried to persuade him many times, but he prioritized his personal feelings, and in the end, it can be said that he bore the heaviest guilt.
He still follows Renalia and has become addicted to the “sweets” she continued giving him.
The severity of his addiction worsens steadily, and there is no trace left of his former brilliance.
Once deemed no longer useful, he was discarded by Renalia and is being secretly sheltered at his family home.
He is addicted to the “Love Potion” and is no longer sane.
To Renalia, he was inadequate even as a man or a source of money, and she threw him away, saying she had “returned him.”
He had been confined in the Daren residence in an addicted state.
He was treated by Renalia, who pretended to be a saint, but she appears to be plotting something.
Cain Druitt
A boyish figure with green hair and copper-colored eyes.
Due to a curse, his physical growth is slow compared to his age.
He is somewhat dependent on Renalia.
He adores Renalia and, after her escape from prison, continued to act alongside her with Graham.
As a magic scholarship student, he possesses immense magical power comparable to Kisthalia’s.
He despises himself for being cursed, and because Renalia accepted him like a ray of light, he developed feelings close to worship and devotion, along with faint romantic affection.
However, to Renalia, the still-childish Cain was not particularly to her taste and was merely kept for a potential harem ending.
He was transformed into a monster by Renalia and sent to the royal palace to assassinate Albel, where he was defeated.
Because he spread a contagious curse, his body was not buried as a human but collected as a monster.
He is currently being stored in the “Tower of Wisdom,” where royal court magicians conduct research.
Findol Tran
A teacher at the academy with lavender-colored hair and eyes.
He was thought to be one of Renalia’s infatuated followers, but in truth, he had been ordered to monitor Renalia, who behaved recklessly while abusing royal authority.
His lover is actually alive, and they are in a long-distance relationship.
He took a job as an academy instructor because the salary and待遇 were good, only to be forcibly dragged into a dangerous situation involving a female student’s harem.
He is quite pitiful.
He did not quit his job out of responsibility and to save money for marriage.
He is secretly saving money to buy a Rose Brand wedding dress and ring for his lover.
In the original game, his lover had died, but here a butterfly effect occurred.
Because he did not cheat and rarely accepted gifts from students, both his life and future were safely preserved.
Now that Renalia is gone, he continues teaching peacefully at the academy.
Zephar von Kreuz
The Margrave of Kreuz.
He governs land filled with powerful monsters.
Although his subjects are limited to a small castle town near his residence, the abundance of monster materials makes the territory relatively wealthy.
He governs land prone to stampedes and diligently patrols and cleans even the borders of his territory.
Because of this diligence, he is highly trusted by neighboring regions.
He has pale blonde hair and slightly violet-tinted blue eyes.
Though he resembles Grail in features, he has a gentle atmosphere and is a handsome man.
He is extremely mild-tempered and rarely gets angry.
Even when he does, it does not last long.
He is too kind-hearted and frequently has troublesome matters pushed onto him.
After Grail’s death, he unwillingly took on the role of balancing the factional struggles among nobles, the royal family, and the Council of Elders.
In the past, he excelled as both a military and civil official and was involved in many incidents.
He is well-informed and competent, but has no intention of inheriting the Lattiche ducal house and supports Kisthalia instead.
His daily comfort from greedy branch families and scheming elders is listening to the innocent love stories of Lucas and Vivian.
Alongside Vania, he serves as Albel’s primary physician.
Though he does not act openly, he assists his nephew and niece in various ways.
Technically, he is a count, but various titles and territories are constantly being pushed onto him.
He is actually unlucky in love and has encountered dangerous women three times.
Josephine
A senior knight under Zephar.
She has pink hair and wears purple-pink lipstick.
She leaves a powerful impression.
She is actually a son of the Armadine ducal house.
As the child of a second wife and due to somewhat unusual behavior, she was disowned.
She is competent at her job but playful.
She calls Zephar “Zeffy,” Grail “Gray-chan,” and Walriege “Wal-chan.”
Kristoff von Fortuna
He has black hair and dull gray eyes.
His trademark is a Kaiser mustache.
His face is somewhat stern and intimidating.
He is Count Fortuna and the next Duke of Fortuna, as well as Albel’s uncle.
He has an extreme sister complex and is completely smitten with Albel, who closely resembles Christina, but Albel herself erects an impenetrable AT field against him.
Recently, that barrier has eased slightly, and he is practically floating with joy.
It may seem as though he is being used at will, but he takes almost no damage.
Being worked hard by his niece is practically a reward to him.
His wife, Patricia, is similar to him in temperament, and he is quite the devoted husband.
Both of them are extremely weak to their niece Albel, and although his brother-in-law Julius feels complicated about it, he accepts it.
He had three sons, but two of them died young due to Megil fever, so he is cooperative with Albel’s medical initiatives.
Gandalf von Fortuna
He has a face like solid rock.
A one-eyed knight duke.
Commander of the Royal Knights.
He has black hair and dull gray eyes.
He is the head of the Fortuna ducal house and Albel’s maternal grandfather.
His relationship with Grail is extremely poor.
He forcibly brought Albel, who possessed the Royal Eyes, to the royal palace.
Because of that, Albel is extremely afraid of him and dislikes him.
He holds deep affection for his granddaughter, but instead of one hundred percent, it is at a thousand percent level of misdirected enthusiasm.
He spins harder than a hamster wheel.
He actually dotes on Albel immensely, and because his guilt is at maximum, he will accept even unreasonable requests from her.
One example of that was accepting Julius as his adopted son-in-law.
Patricia von Fortuna
She has walnut-colored hair and blackberry-like eyes.
She is petite and plump.
She is the Countess of Fortuna and Kristoff’s wife.
Because she was close friends with Christina, she cares deeply for Albertina.
She has a plump and gentle, adorable atmosphere, but in high society she is known as “Fortuna’s Mad Dog.”
If you mistake her for a cute little pomeranian-like lady, you may end up being devoured by Cerberus.
Despite everything, she and her husband have a good relationship.
Sistina von Fortuna
She has blonde hair and Sandis Green eyes.
She had once been a princess but relinquished her royal status and married into the Fortuna ducal house.
She is Albertina’s grandmother.
She was a royal princess and was on close terms with Lauzes.
Her health was not very strong.
However, she had a very active personality and relentlessly pursued Gandalf until they married.
Upon hearing of her daughter Christina’s premature death, she faded away quickly from the shock.
She had been famous for her beauty since her days as a princess.
Albel inherited her beauty from her.
Bella
A woman who had served as Christina’s wet nurse.
At the royal palace, she had been the former head maid of Vayu’s detached palace.
Various circumstances led to her relinquishing that position.
She is Dora’s biological mother, and she is an extreme supporter of Christina and also of Albel.
She is well-versed in the affairs of the Fortuna ducal house and knows many things.
She has a vague idea of what happened to her disappeared daughter, but understands that, as a servant, certain boundaries must not be crossed.
Vania
He has silver-white hair and iridescent eyes.
A hidden handsome man.
He is pale and slender because he prefers staying indoors.
He is the Chief Royal Court Magician and a true magic enthusiast at heart.
He usually behaves carefree, but when necessary, he is fully capable.
He has no interest in power struggles and thus became Albel’s attending physician.
In the original work, he was the heel character in Cain’s route.
He once viewed Cain as a rival, but now feels pity for him after Renalia used him and he died.
His iridescent eyes are the result of a mutation caused by strong magical power.
Cecil Kalman
Albel’s teacher who loves history and ruins.
She has ash-brown hair and hazel eyes.
She is a slightly older middle-aged woman.
After reading through the books she received from Albel, she realized something and sought refuge with Vania.
She is competent, but somewhat driven by her desires.
Owen von Maximilian
He has brown hair and blue eyes.
He is a typical noble intoxicated with his status.
Using something extremely precious to Albertina as leverage, he pressured her to make Van her fiancé.
He is from the Maximilian marquess house, a branch family of the Lattiche ducal house.
Although they are an old noble family, their level as rulers, leaders, and even as human beings is quite low.
They possess land and mines, but their management appears to be poor.
He sought to remove Kisthalia and have his son marry into the Lattiche family to take it over.
However, grave robbing and blackmail were exposed, and he was secretly tortured and executed along with Van.
Van von Maximilian
A large, overbearing young man with brown hair and blue eyes.
He fell in love with Albertina at first sight and harbors intense one-sided feelings for her.
However, because of his rough and arrogant personality, he is poor at understanding emotions and dealing with women.
Albertina, who is delicate and somewhat fearful of men, feels disgust toward him, and his feelings spiral out of control.
He grows increasingly irritated by this.
He firmly believes he will become a candidate for Prince Consort and head of the Lattiche ducal house.
The Maximilian marquess house is financially strained, and he is engaged to Carla of the wealthy Porter viscount house.
However, he looks down on both Carla and the Porter family and treats them poorly.
He is deemed equally guilty as Owen and dies under torture in prison.
Reiner von Maximilian
Van’s half-brother, treated coldly and almost like a servant.
His biological mother was a maid.
The prideful Lady Maximilian refuses to acknowledge her husband’s infidelity, so he is officially registered as her legitimate son.
He is timid but reasonable.
He secretly has feelings for the maid Emilia.
Jail
He has dark red hair and eyes that appear both gold and silver.
He is nearly two meters tall and extremely well-built.
He is an executive of the “Death Merchants,” where Renalia has taken refuge, and acts as her supervisor due to the trouble she causes.
His skill as a killer is first-class.
The blood of a warrior tribe and the Moon Wolf tribe flows in his veins.
However, he was originally an orphan, so the details are unknown.
He is believed not to be pure-blooded.
He belongs to the Death Merchants because he is devoted to a figure he calls “Master.”
<The following contains spoilers>
That Master is Grail, who had infiltrated the Death Merchants for many years as part of a covert investigation.
He makes a living as an assassin using his physical abilities, but can also behave like a noble.
He is a versatile individual.
Conrad Danatia
Count Danatia.
He has drooping eyes and a tear-shaped beauty mark that gives him a sensual look.
A handsome man in his mid-twenties with silver-white hair and pale golden eyes.
His father had been a royal prince and Grand Duke, but due to repeated scandals, the family was reduced to the rank of count.
He is a high-ranking noble connected to Renalia and is described by Jail as “suspicious.”
He frequently appears at masquerade balls and underground auctions, clearly someone of the underworld.
He gave Renalia the magical artifact called the “Holy Grail,” telling her to become a saint, while fully intending to discard her.
He is obsessively fixated on Albertina, especially her appearance, and had been scheming with the Council of Elders.
<The following contains spoilers>
Conrad is Cody, the man who indirectly killed Christina.
He used the magical tool called the Holy Grail to maintain a youthful appearance.
Upon hearing of Albertina’s existence and Grail’s death, he boldly returned to the public stage, only to be successfully ensnared by Grail and fail in his third attempt at marriage.
Cody Danatia
Conrad’s father, said to look exactly like him.
He had been a royal prince and possessed the Royal Eyes, which earned him the title of Grand Duke.
However, due to many unroyal actions, his rank was drastically lowered until he became a count.
In the past, he had been infatuated with his older sister Sistina and pursued her, only to be rejected.
Later, when Christina, who resembled her, was born, he forcibly arranged an engagement with her, but Grail appeared and crushed his plans.
At that time, he resorted to underhanded and cowardly tactics, but was thoroughly defeated by Grail and exposed.
The engagement was annulled, and his rank was reduced to count.
General Settings
Social Debut (Tea Party)
Children usually debut between the ages of four and six at daytime tea parties.
This is typically when the sons and daughters of noble families are formally introduced.
At almost the same time, matchmaking and fiancé selection begin.
Seating and timing of appearance follow strict hierarchies according to rank and class.
Evening Ball Debut
Debutantes are generally between fourteen and eighteen years old.
Most nobles have already decided on their fiancé by this stage.
While most social debuts occur at the earliest eligible age, if there is a death in the family, one year of mourning is observed, so age shifts are not uncommon.
Illness, injury, or other family circumstances may also delay a debut.
The closer and more high-ranking the deceased, the stricter the mourning period tends to be.
Therefore, once mourning ends, it is not unusual for a debut, succession announcement, and immediate marriage announcement to occur all at once.
Those without financial means cannot afford to delay their debut, so they may be forced to proceed regardless.
Sandis Royal Academy (commonly called the Academy)
Primarily attended by nobles and royalty.
The Elementary and Middle divisions provide broad and general education, with some specialized courses.
From the High division onward, there are various courses such as Knight Course, Magic Course, and Noble Course for civil and military officials.
From the High division, students may freely select their credits.
They choose classes and refine their studies, social skills, and technical abilities.
If exceptionally talented, even commoners may attend as scholarship students, but they require recommendation from a noble sponsor.
Elementary Division (ages 6–12)
Equivalent to primary school.
Generally commuting.
Middle Division (ages 12–15)
Equivalent to middle school.
Both commuting and dormitory options are available.
High Division (ages 15–18)
Equivalent to high school.
Both commuting and dormitory options are available.
Kisthalia, Michaelis, and Jibril are dormitory students.
Julius lived in servant quarters.
The setting of “Kimi ni Koishite” takes place in the High division.
These are only general guidelines, so early graduation and repeating years are possible.
