Chapter 11: Ryo and Monsters and a Sleeping-Face Stream
“Ah, right.
There’s something I should tell everyone before we start exploring.”
After leaving the entrance and beginning to walk through Floor 1, Ryo spoke to the drone following behind him.
Whenever he was about to take an action, or when he judged that explaining something in advance would help viewers watch without misunderstanding, he had been repeatedly told by Kaoru to make sure he said it out loud to the audience.
This was practice for that.
“For this exploration, I’ll be avoiding combat as much as possible.
Monsters that are already in a combat-ready state aren’t cute even if you put them to sleep.”
As he said that, Ryo slowly lowered himself into a crouch.
He then peeked from behind a rock, checking monster positions and their routes.
“Moka-P, can you bring the drone a little closer to me?”
Understanding his intent, the drone drifted closer after a moment.
“When I hide behind rocks like this, it’s a problem if the auto-follow makes the drone stick out from cover, so I’d like you to do small adjustments.”
The drone was now fairly close to Ryo’s face.
Ryo himself was not paying attention to the comments at all, but the comment section was quite lively.

That said, only showing his face would get repetitive, so after a reasonable amount of time, the drone changed its angle again.

With that, Ryo activated his presence-concealment skill and began moving smoothly, almost as if sliding.
The drone followed perfectly behind him, maintaining an ideal position.
Ryo reached the stairs just like that.
“Okay.
For now, I’ve reached the stairs on Floor 1.”

The number of concurrent viewers and the speed of comments were steadily increasing, but Ryo continued his exploration without caring.
Or rather, he simply was not looking at the comments at all.
Behind the scenes, this was largely due to Otsuno Dia enthusiastically live-commentating on Warbler.
Ryo was unaware of it, but Kaoru, who was monitoring the drone’s status while also watching Warbler, could only sigh.
From the outside, it looked like Shirona or the agency was about to scold her at any moment.
Still, since the viewer count was rising because of it, Kaoru decided to offer a little service.
He operated the drone to briefly capture a close-up of Ryo’s profile.
Each time he did, Dia let out reverent screams on Warbler, making for excellent promotion.
Kaoru honestly did not understand what part of Ryo had hooked her so deeply.
But since Dia herself looked like she was having fun, he decided not to worry about it.
Even if Dia got scolded later, it would not be Ryo’s or Kaoru’s fault.
That was good enough.

The comment section’s energy kept climbing, but Ryo remained unaware and continued toward the Sharkdile habitat on Floor 6.
“Ah, there it is.
That’s a Sharkdile Saward.”
The drone pointed its camera in the direction Ryo indicated.
“It’s already asleep before we’ve done anything.
Normally, I put them to sleep from a distance while they’re playing around, but this works out nicely.
By the way, a monster’s natural sleeping face is extremely rare.”

Ryo then approached to just short of the point where the Sharkdile would notice him, raised his right hand, and extended his index finger.
“Skill: Range Enhancement High Snipe.”
He activated one of his frequently used skills.
To Ryo, it was nothing special, but the viewers saw it differently.

: That’s the one that increases range but lowers performance

Ignoring the confused comments, Ryo activated another skill.
“Magic Breath: Slumber Wave.”
From the tip of his raised finger, a wave of translucent purple rings flowed outward.
It wrapped around the sleeping Sharkdile and gently faded away.
“Alright.
I’ve deepened its sleep.
Now it shouldn’t wake up even if I pet it a little.”

The comments were bewildered, but Ryo did not look at them and calmly approached the Sharkdile.
When he reached it, he leaned closer to the microphone attached to the drone.
Then, as quietly as possible, he spoke.
“This is the Sharkdile’s sleeping face.”
As he spoke, the drone’s camera moved into the perfect position to capture the sleeping face.

The comment section was no longer focused on the Sharkdile’s sleeping face, but instead entirely on Ryo’s voice from just before.
And on Warbler, the moment she heard Ryo’s whisper voice, Otsuno Dia also perished from reverence.
